As you can see this family is large.........  although there are only 5 children, this family really expanded. I have been privileged to know quite a number of the children and their children of Harold and Helen LITTLE. My dad was in the military so we were going back and forth across the country for many years. so I did meet a lot of these people over the years but like any youngster I did not pay much attention.
It was only in 1999 when my husband and I moved to Pennsylvania that I became interested in meeting any of them and getting to know them and while there we took lots of weekend trips for the 5 years we lived there.

Joseph & Mabel Little's children ........Kenneth, Harold, Velma, Gladys, and Thelma (Donald not born yet)

Our introduction to my mothers fathers relatives was an invitation to a LITTLE REUNION in Homer New York. We called and talked with my cousin Barb [Barbara June Little] and made arrangements to stay at her home and go over to the reunion with her. Now in small town America.......... she made us feel so at home, if she was not at home when we arrived the key is located here, come on in and make yourself at home. Keep in mind she and I have not met or talked for at least 30 years and Chuck had never met her. It was like we were gone for a summer and we were coming home. The reunion was held in the backyard and home of Barb's sister Mary. Wow what a spread, it was wonderful. We met Helen, Gladys and Thelma. Kenneth, Harold, and Velma had already passed. We met so many of the families of all 5 of Joseph Hudson Little's children. It was wonderful and everyone is so welcoming, so loving. And we have since lost Gladys and Thelma. Thelma & Velma were twins.

Too sad a story....... unfortunate!!

I didn't know Velma but Thelma was quite a character, such a lady, just loving life. I really loved her and miss her. Gladys had lost her eye sight and understandably quiet and kept to herself. Helen and her Basket Shop was such a kick to know. She loved her shop but I think it was a way to bring people to her to socialize. Now cousin Barb has been like a sister. I love her so much. She is always open and welcoming even though her eye sight is going she reads and reads ...... she is up for new experiences and still loves to cook. You really wouldn't know that she has a hard time seeing, you just would not know it when you first meet her. NO she does not drive any more but that doesn't seem to bother her, family is important and they all take care of each other. As I said in the beginning, we spent a lot of weekends and extended weekends with Barb and family over those 5 years while living in Pennsylvania.  Really loved those years.

Barb and I have kept in touch. She and I are the family researchers for the LITTLE families..... and we are having such a great time lost in all the memories and stories.
